This week of Advent called for thoughts of Peace
But Boise seemed to prefer irony
As maskless mobs sought to make fear increase
By yelling about fear and tyranny
The local Nazis attracted more press
As details came out of a planned death squad
Then swastikas were left to cause distress
It felt like evil was out to maraud
I long for peace, but it feels far away
Not a cheap peace that ignores all that’s wrong
Or compromises to meet sin halfway
So this Advent, I cry out, “Lord, how long?”
How long must we seek peace and evil fight?
Oh Prince of Peace, how long till all is right?
